When you use your Campus Express Club

Food is fuel for the mind. Restaurants on campus nourish and stimulate the intellect of thousands of students at Cal Poly. Campus Dining is dedicated to providing a variety of quality fresh foods and exceptional service in a friendly environment.

Campus Dining offers over 20 restaurants and food venues on campus with at least one food operation open every day. Campus Dining offers a wide variety of fare that is vegetarian, non-dairy, wheat/gluten-free, low-fat, and more to accommodate various food preferences and allergies. Fresh foods are brought in from local and regional producers to develop healthy and delicious menu items.

Campus Dining is constantly improving its operations to function more sustainably. Driven by consumer demand, all Campus restaurants avoid using polystyrene (foam) and all of the cardboard, plastic, glass, and metal used is properly recycled. The culinary chefs are mindful about purchasing fruits, vegetables, dairy, and meat products from the Cal Poly Organic Farm and other local producers. Thousands of pounds of food material is composted and safely made into premium soil. Campus Dining operates biodiesel trucks and is constantly looking for ways to green things up!

Food industry regulations stipulate that every food service organization needs at least one employee that is sanitation certified. Campus Dining has exceeded this standard by having nearly all of its regular employees SERVSAFE certified. To contact us, email campusdining@calpoly.edu or call (805) 756-1175. WRAP: For the fourteenth year Campus Dining has been a Waste Reduction Awards Program (WRAP) winner for our efforts in waste reduction and recycling.

WRAP is an annual awards program established by the California Integrated Waste Management Board to recognize California businesses that have made outstanding efforts to reduce nonhazardous waste and send less garbage to our landfills. Realizing that the business sector generates more of the State's waste, the purpose of the WRAP award is to recognize companies that develop creative and aggressive programs. Practices evaluated include waste prevention, materials reuse, recycling, recycled-product procurement and employee education.

Campus Dining recycles all of our cardboard and much of our office and promotional literature. We collect and recycle glass, metal cans and plastic water bottles. We give our produce scraps to the student sustainable farm for composting and donate to county food banks. Our restaurants use recyclable or compostable take-out containers rather than "foam." We use recycled paper for our computers, stationery, business cards and many other printed items. We also use recycled and recyclable materials whenever practical. Our trucks run on biodiesel.
